9.6.08 | Foxy Brown Rocks Fashion Week
Alexander Wang's sweat-inspired runway show Saturday evening was clearly more than just a fashion statement: later that night in a basement space in the far reaches of Chinatown, Erin Wasson and Alice Dellal hosted a perspiration-drenched dance party for the designer that drew a crowd of his beloved ODMs (that's off-duty models) like Behati Prinsloo, Julia Stegner and Noot Sear.
Wang began the night in a black Hooters T-shirt ("We tried to go there after the show, but they wouldn't give us our reservation so we went to McDonald's instead," he said), but soon stripped down to one of his signature grey tanks and joined the hordes dancing up a storm around a mini-blue lit runway, waiting for the much ballyhooed surprise performer. She was worth every bead of sweat: at a quarter to midnight, Foxy Brown took the stage in the designer's hot pink mini-dress, telling the roaring crowd, "They put me in jail for a year and my cell was full of Alexander Wang," before rapping hits like "Candy," "What's Your Heaven" and "Hot Spot." Turns out Brown was celebrating more than her self-described "good friend" Wang's collection: it was also her birthday. "When he asked me to perform and told me it was going to be Sept. 6, I said, 'You know what? I'm going to give you that!'" she laughed after her half hour set. Don't expect to see her all over the front rows in the coming days. "I don't whore myself out for fashion." And though it was her first performance since her release from jail earlier this year, Brown didn't suffer from any stage fright. "I'm a beast on the microphone," she declared, as a VH1 television crew filmed her for an upcoming reality show. "I was more nervous about busting my ass in these six inch Yves Saint Laurent heels." Foxy Brown will also be performing next Saturday September 13, 2008 at BB KINGS. It will be the second time Foxy graces a stage in New York since her release from Riker's Island, tickets can be purchased through Ticket-Master.
5.18.08 | Foxy Brown Disappointed With New Album
"Unfortunately, during my incarceration, this CD was compiled without my approval. I heard this CD in its entirety, for the first time, just says ago and was devastated," she said in her statement.
To make up for the album she called "carelessly orchestrated" Foxy revealed that -- after meeting with the president of Koch Records -- she decided to re-release Brooklyn's Don Diva next month with five new cuts, videos, and do an all out marketing and publicity run for it.
She said the old Fox would have gone the legal route to block the album's distribution, but said her fans deserve new music.
"In another phase of my life and career, I would have dealt with this situation with litigation, but for the benefit of my fans and in the wake of the profound spiritual cleansing I recently underwent in prison, I made the decision to settle our creative differences amicably. My fans have waited seven years for an in-store release and deserve my very best," explained the rapper.
"I have an obligation to my fans to deliver the level of product my brand is accustomed to. In order to preserve my artistic integrity, the new release will have my stamp of approval and fingerprints all over it," she continued.
Foxy is so confident she can re-up and bring the album back to the level of her previous releases, she promised to "deliver the biggest street album in female rap history."
At press time, a date for the re-release of the album was unknown.
5.9.08 | Foxy Brown Pleads Guilty In BlackBerry Assault Case, Avoiding Further Prison Time 'She's really happy and excited to move forward,' rapper's lawyer says of scrapped felony charges. ![]() Just weeks after being released from prison, Foxy Brown avoided a trip back to Rikers Island on Thursday when she pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of menacing in a Brooklyn, New York, courtroom. According to Brown's lawyer, Laura Dilimetin, the plea deal allows the rapper (born Inga Marchand) to avoid a felony assault charge from an incident in 2007, during which she is alleged to have hit a Brooklyn woman, Arlene Raymond, in the face with a BlackBerry. "There was no penalty and we consider it a victorious day today, and we're moving forward so she can focus on her career, family and fans," Dilimetin said. "She feels great. She's really happy and excited to move forward. We're very pleased with this outcome." Brown was sentenced to time served and handed the judge a letter of apology, which puts the diva in the clear on all her outstanding legal cases, including an assault case in Florida that she recently pleaded out of. In that case, Brown was accused of throwing hair glue at an employee of a Florida beauty shop last year and allegedly scuffling with an officer who attempted to question her about the incident. She will serve six months' probation in that case and perform 15 hours of community service, as well as write apology letters to the store owner and the employee, according to the Miami Herald. She was also ordered to enroll in an anger management course and pay her court costs and fines. Upon her release from Rikers Island prison on April 18 after serving eight months for a probation violation, Brown said she felt she had learned from her mistakes and would try to have better judgment in the future. Some media outlets reported earlier this week that a bench warrant had been issued for Brown on Tuesday in connection with the BlackBerry case, but Dilimetin told MTV News that day that the warrant was issued in error due to a scheduling change by the court. Dilimetin said she's also been told that there was a civil lawsuit filed in connection with the BlackBerry case but that she does not know who filed it because she hasn't seen the suit yet. "We're going to fight this civil lawsuit hard and make sure there are counter-claims against the person who filed it," she said.
4.19.08 | Foxy Brown's Release From Rikers Island ![]() Rapper Foxy Brown got out of the Big House Friday, and said she was heading straight for God's house. "The first place I want to go is church. I've got to get on my knees," the hip-hop honey said. First, though, she went shopping in Harlem and stopped for a little soul food. Then she made a beeline for her childhood home in Brooklyn. "Feels good, feels good, feels good," she said, climbing out of a white Rolls-Royce Phantom and running up the stoop of her family's Prospect Heights home into her mother's arms. "I love you, Mommy," she told her mother, Judith Marchand, who presented the freed jailbird with smiley-face balloons and an arrangement of cut fruit shaped like flowers. "This is my house, my mother and whole family, my neighborhood, the room I wrote my first rap song in," Brown gushed, as a VH1 film crew captured the moment for an upcoming reality show. "This is real emotional for me." While relishing the welcome-home hugs and kisses, she sounded less than contrite about her stretch behind bars. "I did almost a year in prison, a year in prison, just because my name is Foxy Brown," she said. She did credit her incarceration with shedding light on who her true supporters are. "That's when I really got to see the people who truly love me for me," she said. The raunchy rapper, born Inga Marchand, received a rapturous greeting from family and fans outside Rikers Island when she was released after serving eight months for attacking two manicurists in 2004. "I'm home, I'm home. I'm back," she squealed, tears streaming down her face. During a stop on 125th St., she greeted fans who approached her car, picked up some new handbags and stopped for fried chicken at Amy Ruth's. The 29-year-old singer, wearing a Fendi scarf and leather blazer, left the prison in style, thanks to City Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn), who drove her out in his black Chevy instead of the public bus that usually ferries ex-cons to freedom. Brown was sentenced to three years' probation in October 2006. But a judge packed her off to jail when she decided the long-nailed, short-fused star wasn't taking her probation seriously after she hit a woman in the face with a cell phone and threw a pot of hair glue at a worker in a Queens store. Brown is hoping to hype her first album since 2001, "Brooklyn's Don Diva," which is due out May 13. Fox Brown Boy's recap of Foxy's Release! 4.4.08 | Countdown To Foxy Brown's Release Begins.
Brown, who was sentenced to a year in prison in September of 2007, is currently imprisoned at the Rose Singer Center for women on Rikers Island.
"The past year has been a difficult one for Foxy, but now, the countdown has started," a representative for the rapper told AllHipHop.com. "She will be out in the next two weeks, so we are aligning everything for her now."
Foxy Brown, born Inga Marchand, was sentenced to a year in prison for violating the terms of her previous probation by leaving New York for Florida, without court permission and for striking her neighbor in the face with a Blackberry.
In February of 2007, Brown ended up in a dispute with a Pembroke Pines, Florida store owner, who attempted to close the store as the rapper continued to shop for beauty products.
During the ensuing fracas, Brown had to be forcibly subdued by an officer, who later charged the rapper with battery and resisting arrest with violence.
In August of 2007 was arrested for striking another woman in the face with her Blackberry device during a fight that took place in July of 2007, after the two women repeatedly quarreled over the volume of Brown’s car stereo in her Brooklyn neighborhood.
Brown will be freed for the May 13 release of her new album Brooklyn’s Don Diva, which features production by Kanye West, Swizz Beatz and others.
Brown’s reality show will focus on the rapper’s post-jail time as she readjusts to life and starts the promotion for Brooklyn’s Don Diva.
"The show will chronicle her life and what’s she’s been doing. The music business has changed, she’s been away for eight months, so the show will show her getting her life back on track."
Foxy Brown also put her eight months in prison to good use, as she has chronicled her experiences for a new untitled book.
On April 18th, Foxy wants all her fans to support her, if you can't make it to the Rikers Visitor's Parking Lot, sport a custom Foxy T-Shirt. If you can make it to Rikers, be sure to wear a shirt or bring a poster. Boogie is on her way home!!!

The Brooklyn bred MC will now see the release of her LP, Brooklyn's Don Diva, re-scheduled for the second time. The album, which had been pushed back to a February 5th release date, now won't be released until this spring. Chaz Williams, Foxy's manager, told SOHH the decision was made so the rapper would not have to forgo promotion of the album and enjoy a proper release.
"The album release date has been changed at the direction of Foxy and Black Hand Management," Williams said. "Foxy will be out in April and we wanted her to be able to participate in the promotion of this album."
"This also gives us the opportunity to get out the proper visuals and videos to support her records, as well as the opportunity to do live radio promo and tour in support album release," he added. "This was a business decision we felt served our best interest as an independent record company."
This is just the latest setback for the troubled MC, who recently had a request for an early release from prison denied. Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson denied the request on Thursday (Jan. 24), saying Foxy failed to provide any medical proof that she needed to undergo a procedure to receive a cochlear ear implant. Foxy contends that she needs the implant to preserve her hearing. Her cochlear was reportedly damaged after she was punched during an altercation with another inmate.

But the rapper hadn't addressed her tribulations — until this week, when a new track, "Star Cry," leaked to the Internet.
She raps on the chorus: "Lord have mercy/ I'm so controversy/ Bet you never seen a star cry/ I gave you my life/ You get my blood, sweat and tears/ Hip-hop's bad girl for 10 f---ing years."
"I loved the record. I didn't know if [her manager] Chaz [Williams] or the label was going to put it out," Foxy's friend and former publicist Marvet Britto told MTV News. "I heard parts of it before, but I'm just now hearing the entire thing. I think it's great. She's opening up and unleashing and revealing some of the pain."
According to Williams, the track was recorded prior to the rapper's sentencing in August. Williams said Foxy held a few private recording sessions, during which she wouldn't allow anyone else to enter the studio. It was during that time that she recorded "Song Cry." The song is, well, a far cry from the singer's happier days, like when he caught up with her in New York back in 1999.
"It was real introspective and real personal to her and she acted that way during the recording of it," Williams explained.
"I thought it was one of the best records she's done by far, to me," he added. "I felt that it was something that she did a lot different than she did before, even when she did personal records. 'Cause she made the distinction between her stage presence and her personal, which is Inga Marchand [Foxy's birth name]. I think it's easy for artists to lose sight of who they are, especially when you have so many people trying to get at you. And I think her experience, both bad and good and more bad, relating to the hearing problem, made her take another look at herself and see that she was vulnerable, really vulnerable, and she put it into the music."
Although Foxy doesn't rap specifically about her hearing problem, she takes aim at the New York tabloid media's coverage of her.
"How can y'all judge my life, like I ain't have a struggle?" Foxy spits. "Sometimes I feel like I live inside a f---ing bubble/ I work hard for mine, baby, I'm a thoroughbred/ And I don't care what channel five and the haters said."
In reference to the lyrics, Williams cited instances when the media camped outside of Foxy's mother's home to get sound bites from the rapper after court dates or the puzzling time she was robbed in Brooklyn, New York, late last year.
Even now, he noted, with Foxy's recent request to be relieved from her jail time in order to undergo treatment for her hearing impairment, it's largely been blown out of proportion.
Williams admitted his client is seeking a release but explained that Foxy suggested a number of options in her request, including house arrest while she recovers from surgery. A New York judge has requested proof that she will go deaf unless she goes to a Los Angeles clinic for treatment.
Williams made it clear that Foxy wasn't trying to dodge her ordered jail time.
He said the rapper underwent regular maintenance for her hearing impairment, which includes a device placed in her ear. Williams said Foxy usually receives treatment locally in New York, but because of the circumstances, she's requesting to see a specialist in Los Angeles, where she first had surgery for her hearing loss.
"Her hearing implants need to be programmed a certain way," he said. "They can't be removed and sent in for repair without a serious surgery. So she would have to go to a doctor in California. And while people incarcerated don't necessarily get the doctor of their choice, they don't perform that type of implant within the prison system.
"She understood when she went in that she would have to do the time and has served most of her time," Williams finished, noting that he believes Foxy has fewer than 100 days remaining because of good behavior. "She's not trying to avoid her responsibilities."
Brown, 29, revealed her hearing problems during a court appearance in late 2004. Her petition says her condition is worsening in jail and her hearing faces serious harm unless she has the cochlear implant reprogrammed and repaired.
Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was sentenced in September 2007 to a year in jail for violating probation.
The judge had put her on probation after she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault of two manicurists at a Manhattan nail salon in August 2004.
Brown's lawyer, Laura Dilimetin, told the judge she was asking her to amend her client's sentence so she could make the medically necessary trip to the West Coast.
Assistant District Attorney Cindy Chung objected, saying Brown had offered nothing to show the medical procedure could not be done in New York. She said a jail inmate has no right to the doctor of her choice.
Chung also opposed the request to amend Brown's sentence.
"The mere existence of a debilitating health condition does not merit a sentence reduction, even if it is a terminal illness," the prosecutor told the judge. "Basically, your honor, this is a desperate and frivolous petition."
The judge ordered Dilimetin to give the hip-hop diva's medical records to the district attorney, the Department of Correction and the Department of Probation so they could file position papers. She said the records would be sealed.
"I need to have more information on this," the judge said.
Before being led out of the courtroom, Brown told the judge she had had a lot of time to think and had learned a lot in jail, including how to suppress her emotions and make better decisions.
"I have too much talent to throw it away," Brown said. "I know I will make you proud and my family proud."
The judge told the rapper, "I'm glad you're learning some very hard lessons that needed to be learned."
1.16.08 - Foxy Asks Judge For Early Prison Release
Expressing concern that her hearing will continue to deteriorate due to a chronic ear condition, the incarcerated hip-hop star petitioned Tuesday for early release from New York's Rikers Island, where she's four months into a year-long sentence for probation violation on an assault charge.
"I am terrified of not hearing a fire alarm go off, or being locked in a cell, and someone not being kind enough to let me out, since not everyone understands the severity of my condition," Brown wrote in a four-page letter attached to her attorney's motion.
Two surgeries to ease her cochlear comfort failed, attorney Laura Dilimetin wrote in the petition filed on Brown's behalf in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan. "If her hearing is damaged any further, it will affect the way she hears and it will affect the way she sings. It will have dire consequences on her ability to maintain her profession and livelihood."
Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, wants to be out by Jan. 30 in order to "have her cochlear implant reprogrammed and repaired" at the House Clinic in Los Angeles, "or else face imminent harm to her hearing," Dilimetin wrote.
"Her condition is worsening in jail since she cannot obtain at Rikers the proper treatment," the motion states. "Ms. Marchand does not want to risk such a sensitive and complicated process to centers that have failed her in the past."
The only doctor who has a history of successfully treating Brown's condition and cochlear implant complications is in L.A., Dilimetin insists.
A court date to hear the motion wasn't immediately set.
"Yes, I've made some bad choices and stupid mistakes. But please understand that sitting in a prison with murderers and criminals is not rehabilitating or what I need to deal with my inner issues," Brown wrote, characterizing herself as a "good person with an incredible heart" underneath the bad rap, no pun intended.
"Up until now, you've only hear about Foxy Brown the artist," she continued. "I'd like to show you Inga Marchand, the beautiful person that my mom raised me to be. Jail has shaken me to the core, and my time away has impacted me greatly.
"Foxy Brown gets into an altercation with a neighbor' would be great front-page headlines, whereas 'Foxy Brown brings Christmas toys to 30 disabled children' would hardly be mentioned."
While she hasn't had a chance to put that idea into effect while behind bars, the "Chyna Doll" rapper has been doing her best to "maintain her profession" since she landed on the inside in September. She launched a Website so fans could keep track of her comings and goings, however geographically confined, and proceeded with plans to put out a new album in November.
Her work was interrupted, however, when she was sentenced to 76 days in solitary confinement after tussling with another inmate outside the ladies' dining hall, refusing to submit a urine sample for a mandatory drug test and verbally trashing some of the guards.
Brown ended up spending 40 days in isolation before reentering Rikers' general population Nov. 27.
Brooklyn's Don Diva, the rapper's first studio album since 2001, now has a Feb. 5 release date.
Brown was sentenced Sept. 7 to a year in jail for a series of probation violations incurred after she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault in October 2006, stemming from her run-in in 2004 with two manicurists in a Manhattan salon.
Foxy is serving a one year prison sentence at the Rose M. Singer Center For Women At Rikers Island, for multiple probation violations.
She violated her probation after leaving the state without permission and for allegely assaulting her Brooklyn neighbor with a Blackberry in July during a feud.
Despite a number of high profile incidents with guards, an altercation with another inmate and an 40-day stint in solitary confinement at Rikers Island, Brown’s attorney, John Sampson said the rapper was humbled by her stay in prison.
Foxy said, "sometimes God has to humble you in order for you to realize who you actually are," the Senator told reporters following the hearing. "When you get away from the glitz and glamour, you can find inner peace within yourself."
Last week the New York Post reported that Geoffrey Davis, a family fried of Browns said, "Brown only trusts her mother and her manager", "that Brown has not changed at all".
In typical fashion the New York Post completely misquoted Mr. Davis, and this is what he had to say, "Hip Hop artist, Foxy Brown's growth and development has improved tremendously."
Foxy Brown’s new album Brooklyn’s Don Diva is currently slated to hit stores on February 5, 2008.
The troubled rapper, who has been in jail since August 22 for violating her probation multiple times, was placed in solitary confinement late last month after being disciplined for a scuffle, verbal assault toward prison officials and her refusal to take a drug test.
The three separate infractions had occurred over the course of a 30-day period beginning October 3. In the first, the rapper and another female inmate got into a scuffle that had to be broken up by prison officials, according to the New York Post. The next day, Brown was accused of verbally assaulting officials and refusing to take a mandatory drug test.
In punitive segregation, she was only permitted to leave for one hour each day to see visitors, meet with her attorney or partake in a limited number of recreation options. The other inmate involved in the fight was given 11 days of solitary confinement.
Brown has had her share of headline-grabbing incidents over the past three years, beginning with an altercation in New York with two nail-salon employees in August 2004. The rapper eventually pleaded guilty to assault charges and was placed on probation. Since then, a number of violations, from assaulting another woman with a BlackBerry cell phone to leaving the jurisdiction of New York without permission, led to her incarceration.
In December 2005, Foxy had been diagnosed with sudden hearing loss. The rare condition threatened to end her career, but a series of treatments improved her condition enough to resume recording material and appearing at Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt anniversary concert.
The longtime Def Jam artist recently left the label to sign with indie powerhouse Koch Records and is scheduled to release an album of new material (recorded prior to her confinement) titled Brooklyn's Don Diva through her Black Rose Entertainment company. The album is scheduled to drop February 5, 2008.
Rolling Stone : Preview Foxy Brown’s Fierce “Brooklyn’s Don Diva”: “The Biggest Comeback Since Mimi”
Foxy Brown is in solitary confinement at Rikers Island, but her husky voice took over Chung King Studios in downtown Manhattan last night: “I still make the front-page news if I just sneeze!” Foxy, who’s serving a year in prison for violating her probation (with seventy-six days in solitary for fighting), sets a fierce tone on “Rumors of Fox” from Brooklyn’s Don Diva (Koch/Black Hand) with the brazen braggadocio fans have been waiting six years for.
Though she’s been in the hole since October 23rd — twenty-three hours a day, with one hour outside the cell for physical activity — Foxy’s still actively involved with the release of Don Diva (set to hit stores on February 5th), changing the album art and answering fan mail from inside. The label considers the street album a prelude to her long-awaited Black Roses. Don Diva, recorded before Brown was sentenced, encompasses Foxy’s experiences over the past few years: the physical altercations, court dates, tabloid talk, going deaf, undergoing surgery, regaining her hearing. “It’s about everything she went through,” Mixtape MC and Black Hand labelmate Grafh explains. “It’s gonna be the biggest comeback since Mimi.”
The first few tracks sound like Grafh might be right. The insistent New York anthem “We Don’t Surrender” is made for bumping full blast in grimy clubs and trucks. “We’re On Fire” features Mavado’s guttural chanting while Foxy raps in patois and reminds us that she’s the “same bitch since before rap.” Brown switches from salty to sugary on the radio-friendly first single “When the Lights Go Out,” on which she rhymes fast about how you might get a sniff and lick of the Na Na.
The majority of the album is backed by Black Hand’s in-house producers, and Don Diva leans towards mixtape quality in both sound and content. The standout track, “Star Cry” features Foxy at her best over a simple beat — an unhurried delivery and introspective lyrics about the controversy she’s endured. “Only black bitch to get press like the white bitches …” she spits. “Look inside my soul, I’m just a little insecure, after thirteen years I feel I deserve more.”
She may claim that she deserves more, but Foxy raps like she still has something to prove, boasting about the designer labels she wears and how long she’s been in the game. “Gangsta Love” featuring Lil Mo and the reggae-inspired “Dreams” are both about being in love with men from the streets. “I’m addicted to drug dealers,” Fox raps on the latter, “I used to fiend for the call.” On the moody “Still Strugglin’, ” Foxy goes from calling herself “the black Kim Kardashian” to revealing “I remember I was five when a nigga first put his hands on me.”
If Foxy has this much to get off her chest after losing her hearing, imagine what she’ll unleash after spending twenty-three hours a day alone, isolated in lockdown. “She’s focused. Her spirits is high,” says Foxy’s manager Chaz Williams, who has filed for Brown’s early release and hopes she’ll be home by Christmas. “She surprises me sometimes.”
Brown, born Inga Marchand, was sentenced to 76 days of "punitive segregation" after committing three violations at Rikers Island this month. According to reports, the first incident occurred on Oct. 3, when Brown and another inmate allegedly engaged in a shoving match on their way to the dining hall. The next day, Brown was verbally abusive to a correction officer and refused to take a drug test.
The Department of Corrections at the Rose M. Singer facility, where Brown has been jailed since Aug. 22, reviewed the cases and sentenced her to solitary confinement. Brown spends 23 hours alone in her cell, and is allowed one hour each day to see visitors, meet with attorneys and engage in recreational activities.
But according to Williams, some of the allegations aren't entirely true. "There was an incident where a girl attempted to confront her and she stood her ground, but there wasn't any contact. Words were exchanged and that was it," he tells Billboard.com.
Williams says the drug-test flap can be chalked up to Brown's hearing difficulties. "Really she didn't hear the request," he explains. "She has a battery-operated device and sometimes it dies out." By the time Brown came to understand what she was being asked, the officials told her it was too late and that their decision to take further disciplinary action was already made, says Williams.
The infractions don't include her recent late arrivals to a Brooklyn court. According to reports, Brown refused to leave her cell until she was done changing outfits and applying makeup, which caused her to miss her first court hearing. Later that day, she refused to get on the transportation bus again because she wanted to eat lunch first. Williams says this is yet another incident in which Brown's lack of hearing was mistaken for rebellion.
Williams told Billboard.com that on Sunday (Oct. 21), Brown received a visit from councilmember Charles Barron, who placed a call to the commissioner explaining Brown's hearing impairment and to request she be taken out of punitive segregation. A medical team was sent to examine Brown's health, which confirmed that she indeed has a serious hearing problem. The investigation is still underway.
Brown was sentenced on Sept. 8 to a year in jail for violating her probation after several arrests, including an altercation with two nail salon employees in August 2004 and assaulting a neighbor with a BlackBerry cell phone.
In December 2005, Brown announced she was diagnosed with sudden hearing loss, but after a series of treatments, her condition improved enough to allow her to continue recording. The former Def Jam artist recently left the label to sign with indie label Koch Records. She is scheduled to release a new album, "Brooklyn's Don Diva," Nov. 20 through her Black Rose Entertainment company.
1. Foxy Brown is with Spragga Benz, they are engaged.
2. Foxy is scheduled to be on FunkerMaster Flex's show sometime soon, she said she isn't sure due to time limits and restrictions but she said it will happen, "freestylin' and all that"!
3. Foxy will is working behind bars to be on "Several Magazine Covers", possibly the Source and Don Diva to name a few.
4. Foxy was scheduled to go to court today, she did not disrespect anyone by not appearing, she wasn't released in time, she was also aware of her mother being at the court house and would "never,...disrespect her like that". Foxy is scheduled to be in court Tuesday, October 16th.
5. Lastly, Foxy was pregnant. She didn't go into specifics but she said she was with Spragga, he's been her rock, he's been by her side through this entire thing.
6. She said Chaz is the Best manager that she has had, he "rides" for her. Foxy also mentioned how she has a lot of love for the Black Hand Crew.
But, Foxy is good in spirits and she might be home sooner than we think. They have some real big things planned for

Brown, who hasn’t released an album since 2001’s “Broken Silence,” was sentenced Friday to one year in jail for violating probation that stemmed from a fight with two manicurists in a New York City nail salon three years ago.
In August, defense lawyers told the court that Brown was three months pregnant. But in a statement released Wednesday, her manager, Chaz Williams, said: “And to the pregnancy rumors, this is the official statement: She is not pregnant.”
Brown herself didn’t address the issue of pregnancy in her statement about her new album, “Brooklyn’s Don Diva,” which is set for release Nov. 20. Her new single, “Don’t Surrender,” will be released to radio stations Thursday, Giovanna Melchiorre, a representative for the independent Koch Records, said.
“This is just a temporary situation,” Brown said in a statement. “I made my bed and have no problem lying in it. My will is steady. What doesn’t kill me will only make me stronger.”
Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was arrested last month in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on charges of hitting a woman with a cell phone when the pair fought over the music volume from Brown’s car stereo. Her other violations include leaving the state without permission and dropping court-ordered anger management sessions with a psychologist.
“I visited Foxy at (Riker’s Island prison) the day after sentencing, and her spirits were high,” Williams said. “I expected nothing less. I was in court at sentencing and she didn’t blink an eye. She’s a strong girl.”
Before Friday’s hearing began, Brown asked Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson for a second chance and promised to straighten out her life. But Jackson didn’t budge.
“I’m not going to give you any more chances,” she told Brown.
Williams downplayed the ruling.
“I’m sorry Miss Jackson, we’re not impressed, and definitely not stopping musically,” he said.

| 9.7.07 - Foxy Brown Sent To Jail For A Year
NEW YORK (Reuters) - A New York judge sent rapper Foxy Brown to jail for a year on Friday, ruling she violated the terms of her probation by failing to attend anger management classes and failing to stay out of trouble.
Judge Melissa Jackson told Brown, 28, whose real name is Inga Marchand, that she had failed to take probation seriously and that she would be treated "just like any other defendant" despite her celebrity. Brown, who wore a gray suit with her hair arranged in long twists, told the court that she deserved another chance. "Being in jail humbled me in a way I never imagined," she said. "I realize that this is not where I want to be." But Jackson called her apology "too little, too late." "Probation is a gift that is given to the defendant and I feel very strongly that I gave her the chance to do what she wanted with her life," Jackson said. In October, the hip-hop artist was sentenced to three years probation and anger management classes for assaulting two nail salon stylists over a $20 manicure. Brown had argued self-defense. Jackson handled Brown's case last year, when she also ordered Brown to undergo periodic drug testing, stay away from the manicurists for five years and get the court's approval before traveling. Brown got into trouble again in August when she was accused of bruising the eye and chipping the tooth of a Brooklyn woman with her BlackBerry. Also in August, she was arrested in New Jersey for misspelling her name and giving an incorrect date of birth to a police officer. Following those arrests, Jackson sent Brown to jail pending a full hearing. At the time, Brown told Jackson that she was three months pregnant, but there was no mention of it at Friday's hearing. Ikiesha Al-Shabazz, Brown's lawyer, said that she was not aware that Brown is pregnant. Foxy will be up for parole in eight months if all goes well. Brown's 1999 album "Chyna Doll" opened at the top of the Billboard 200, the U.S. pop chart encompassing all styles of music, becoming the first female rap artist to achieve that feat.

Manhattan judge threw Foxy Brown behind bars on a probation violation charge this morning -- a stunning blow to a rascally rapper who's uncanny ability to remain free despite numerous scuffles with the law had made her appear jail-proof.
Foxy -- who is three months pregnant, according to her lawyer -- will spend at least two weeks, until Sept. 7, in Rikers, which has a pre-natal unit for pregnant inmates. Then she'll be hauled out before the same Manhattan Criminal Court judge for a hearing on charges she has flouted the rules of probation and deserves to be jailed for a year -- the maximum sentence allowed on her original offense, beating two Chelsea nail salon workers during a 2004 fight over the bill. Probation department lawyer Matilde Leo gave Judge Melissa Jackson four reasons why Foxy has "abused the privilege [of probation] to the point of no return."
Her other alleged probation offenses include missing court-ordered appointments with her anger management therapists and probation officer, along with recently getting busted in Bergen County on a traffic infraction when she’d not asked for probation permission to go to New Jersey. Foxy's lawyer, state Sen. John Sampson, argued in vain that the pending Brooklyn Blackberry-bash charges were weak, and that the performer's life was turning around.
But the judge -- who has had a sometimes stormy, two-year courtroom history with Foxy -- was unmoved. Foxy has publicly derided the judge for having "a disdain for hip hop" the judge once had Foxy cuffed to a bench for snapping her gum and sticking her tongue out at her from the defense podium. "The defendant is going to be remanded pending her hearing," Jackson announced from the bench. When Foxy stared back, blankly, the judge repeated herself with a slight smile, "That's a remand. Thank you!" Then the cuffs went on, and Foxy teetered toward the cells, looking stunned, in her black, patent leather, peep-toed, five-inch stiletto Fendi pumps. laura.italiano@nypost.com Click Here to check out Footage from Foxy entering the court room.

Hold your head Foxy. Even though I can't support all of your actions, overall I support you Mama! Let this be the first and the last time you are in the slammer. Hopefully the judge feels that this 16 day stint is enough. I think it will be! I love you FOX! 8.15.07 - Foxy Brown Signs New Record Deal, gets arrested for feud with neighbor.
Foxy Brown is moving on after being signed with Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam since 2004 without releasing her highly anticipated Black Roses album.
The rapper's management, Black Hand, revealed Tuesday (August 14) that she has inked a deal with Koch Records, where she will release projects through her own Black Rose Entertainment. Although the exact terms of the deal were not disclosed, label sources revealed it was a multi-million dollar negotiation that was signed after office hours. The first artist to drop through the new deal will be Foxy Brown herself. Foxy will first release her highly anticipated street album, Brooklyn's Don Diva, later this year, which will be her first release since regaining her hearing. "I have always been a symbol of independence as a female in music," explained the rapper. "My brand is already established, millions of my records have already been sold, and I have a fan base already loyal. After 13 years at Def Jam, I felt it was time as a matured business women to move on and continue my brand under the roof of something I own." The first move as a label exec may be to sign some new talent. Foxy also hinted that she will be looking for new artists with a worldwide appeal because of her strong ties in the Caribbean music genre. "Foxy is not only an incredible talent, but an entrepreneur with a vision," said Chaz Williams, of Black Hand Management. "She decided to move on to literally greener pastures, like money green. We are faced with a climate in music and new media where the independent is far more profitable. Ownership and partnerships are the new millennium record deals." The first single from Brooklyn's Don Diva will hit radio within the next few weeks, and the album is scheduled for a December release, according to a rep from Black Hand. "I have two albums of music recorded, and my fans have waited long enough, I'm back bitches," Foxy exclaimed. Here is the response from Foxy's Camp.
During Brown's Brooklyn Criminal Court arraignment Tuesday, the rapper's lawyer, John Sampson, said Arleen Raymond was the aggressor, according to a transcript. Brown, 27, whose real name is Inga Marchand, ended up getting charged with felony assault in the July 30 throwdown with Raymond, 25. "She is looking for a payday," Sampson said of Raymond, Brown's neighbor of 14 years.
Raymond told cops Brown shouted expletives at her and smashed her in the face with a BlackBerry. The incident could land Brown in jail for a year. She already is serving three years' probation for assaulting two Chelsea manicurists.

7.11.07 - Foxy Brown Reappears at Urban Music Awards.
The First Annual Urban Music Awards were held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan on Saturday (July 7).
The red carpet event drew many celebrities and fans, including an appearance from UMA hostess and rapper Foxy Brown, who had been reported in the press as "missing" a day after her appearance. Brown looked elegant as she walked down the red carpet in a solid gold colored gown, with Spragga Benz in arm during the event, which drew celebrities like Danity Kane, actor Rick Gonzales, Mele Mel and others. The Urban Music Awards was launched in the UK five years ago. The highlight of the launch of the United States' version of the awards was was a performance from Foxy Brown and Spragga Benz. On July 8, just a day after her appearance at the awards, reports surfaced that Brown had previously "vanished" and previously hadn't been seen for over a week. "We're all trying to find Foxy," Brown's lawyer, State Sen. Jack Sampson told the New York Post. "She's probably getting some much needed rest. She's been given authorization to travel and she could be working on her album [Black Roses]. She is trying to get her album done. Depending on whom she's working with, she could be anywhere." Prior to her appearance at the Urban Music Awards on July 7, the last time Brown was seen, was when she boarded a New York flight bound for London at JFK Airport on June 29th. Brown's album Black Roses has no official release date. She recently released a single titled We Don't Surrender featuring fellow Black Hand artist Grafh. What exactly she won't surrender to still remains unclear. But ever since the rapper went to police claiming to have been attacked and robbed June 23 in a Brooklyn, New York, housing project, NYC tabloids have been in a frenzy covering Brown and her every move (see "Was Foxy Brown Robbed Last Weekend Or Not?").
Her camp has since denied that Brown was robbed in the first place, and the rapper told The New York Post that she wasn't even in New York at the time of the alleged incident. Despite this claim, police confirmed the incident to MTV News and other media outlets.
Brown's new manager, Chaz Williams, claims that Foxy's bag was simply lost. Williams said he ventured into the Louis H. Pink Houses to retrieve the missing items.
But now Fox is addressing the issue herself in the freestyle, which features rapper Grafh, another client of Williams' and president of the manager's Black Hand Entertainment.
"I'm a gangsta, baby, and still stuntin'/ Cops want to talk to Fox," Brown raps over the synth-heavy production. "I knows nothing/ F--- what the papers say/ They got nothing/ I'm staying and I'm fighting, b---h, I'm not runnin'."
According to multiple reports, authorities in New York are pushing for Brown to discuss the incident again, but so far the rapper has declined to cooperate.
Last week, The Associated Press reported that the woman who Brown fingered as her assailant, Roshawn Anthony, 23, of Brooklyn, was released from police custody after Brown failed to show up and testify against her.
A spokesperson for the New York probation office declined to comment to MTV News as to whether Brown's refusal to assist with the ongoing investigation is a violation of her probation. Brown's lawyer, New York State Senator Jack Sampson, could not be reached for comment as of press time regarding his client's decision not to testify.
Grafh, however, confirmed to MTV News that he and Brown recorded "We Don't Surrender" in order for her to address all the attention directed her way recently. He said the track was also released as a buzz record for Brown's next project, which will be titled Brooklyn Don Diva (not Black Roses, as had previously been reported).
"We just taking a stand against whatever they may be saying negative about her," Grafh said. "She's just letting them know she ain't surrendering, she ain't going nowhere, [and Black Hand] don't cooperate with police. We stand our own ground, and we hold firm. We don't wave white flags.
"She's a real individual," he added. "She's the type of person that lives what she says. So you have to respect that if not anything else."

Foxy Brown and the judge who was her one-time nemesis bid each other the warmest of farewells in Foxy’s nail-salon-beat-down case today, as the judge cut the ravishing rapper loose from looming probation violation charges.
"Go on to a happy life," Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Melissa Jackson told Foxy sweetly after reviewing records showing the rapper has recently transformed into a model probationer.
The ruling - which means the hip-hop hottie won’t ever have to step into the judge’s courtroom again, barring another violation or arrest - left the rapper hopping up and down in her snakeskin stiletto Christian Louboutins and thanking the judge and Jesus, in that order.
The Kumbaya moment was a far cry from the rapper once blasting this very judge for having "a disdain for hip-hop."
So too was it a stretch for a judge who once had Foxy handcuffed to a bench for snapping her gum and sticking her tongue out at her from the defendant podium.
The odd pairing dates back to Foxy’s May, 2005 first appearance in Jackson’s courtroom. Since then, over the course of more than a dozen appearances, the judge has threatened at least three times to have Foxy tossed in jail, either for being uncompliant with probation or after the rapper’s numerous additional scuffles with the law.
Foxy – famous for her x-rated raps and soft-porn album posters - still has two years probation to go after pleading guilty in August to the case at hand, that she socked two Chelsea salon workers with her cell phone and fists during a fight over the manicure-pedicure bill.
She also remains charged in Florida with allegedly spitting and flinging hair extension glue at a beauty shop owner, then swatting at the cop who tried to arrest her.
"I see a positive report here," the more typicaly wry judge told Foxy yesterday, smiling as she turned the pages. "I see you have been seeking permission when you have to leave the state. Your drug tests are negative. And you are continuing with anger management," the judge said, happily.
A probation lawyer asked unsuccessfully that Foxy – whose real name is Inga Marchand - be required to make at least one additional court appearance.
"She has turned around 720 degrees," her lawyer, state Sen. John Sampson, countered.

5/24/07 - Foxy Brown set to Release two Albums by September of '07. New Track Also!
"No disrespect to anyone, but gear up baby, because when I come, it's over," Brown tells Billboard.com in an exclusive interview. "This album is going to be a lyrical testimony of everything I've gone through and survived the last couple of years. It's just incredible."
Though Brown declined to reveal details, she did disclose she plans on collaborating with Jay-Z, Spragga Benz, Baby Cham and a few other unexpected acts. "I'm a huge fan of Amy Winehouse and Bjork," she confesses about two of the people she hopes to work with for the project.
According to Brown, who recently recovered from hearing loss and has been in and out of court following a dispute with a nail salon worker for the past year, "Black Roses," named after a Barrington Levy song by the same name, is a testament to the hardships she's faced in the music industry.
"I feel like I've had to fight that much harder than [Lil'] Kim and Lauryn [Hill] and Missy [Elliott]. But God took away my hearing for a reason -- to trip me down and build me back up and come back into this business right," Brown says.
"Barrington told me he was inspired to write 'Black Roses' when he went to Africa and there, in a garden, amongst a thousand beautiful flowers, he saw one black rose that was withered and broken, and how tourists would fly in from all over the world to take pictures of it," she continues. "I have to save some lives, and that's what 'Black Roses' is officially for. That's why the title is so perfect."
In addition, Brown recently inked a management deal with Black Hand Entertainment and plans on signing a few West Indian acts to her new label.

Williams, who earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, launched Black Hand Entertainment in 1989 when he was released from prison.
"I think Foxy is an incredible talent and one the fiercest female MC's of all time, Williams told AllHipHop.com. "I have watched Foxy since the beginning of her career, she has consistently delivered quality records and has the potential to exceed her past accomplishments. Her skills and work ethic are undeniable and she has a determination to succeed that I respect."
Williams used to handle the career of superstar rapper 50 Cent and in addition to Foxy Brown, he currently manages rapper Grafh.
Brown will release a street album as a prelude to Black Roses, in an attempt to prove that she is still relevant in the Hip-Hop world.
"I needed to connect with a person who understood my struggle completely, from where I came to where I traveled today," Brown said in a press release. "Chaz is an aggressive businessman who has overcome adversity and roadblocks his entire life, I need a person who can relate to a real struggle and who has experience in moving beyond at the most difficult times," says Brown.
Black Roses is due out on Def Jam.
"I see the lyrics for my next record right now," Brown told NBC6's Carlos Vergara outside the courtroom. "It is going to be an incredible record because of all this."
Lazarus had issued an arrest warrant for Brown after she did not show up to a scheduled court date. Lazarus withdrew the arrest warrant Wednesday. Defense lawyers said the arraignment notice telling Brown about the date was mailed to an old address.
Brown was charged in February with battery and resisting arrest without violence.
"We see his intentions," Brown's attorney, John Sampson, said of the Queen Beauty Supply employee who is now suing his client. "He is just a money grubbing individual looking out for a big payday but this lottery ticket is going to be null and void."
According to the Florida arrest report, Brown was applying beauty products in the bathroom when a Queen Beauty Supply employee told her the business was closed and she needed to leave. She refused and threw hair glue at the employee, the report said. Brown then spat on the man as he called 911.
She later struggled with a police officer who responded to the call, the report said. She was released on a $1,500 bond.
"My attorney knew and then the judge realized that this is all a mix-up because the court date letter was sent to my old address," Brown said.
Brown's real name is Inga Marchand. Her albums include "Ill Na Na" and "Chyna Doll" and she is known for her sexy outfits and racy lyrics. Visit the Gallery for court photos.
